And uh one! And uh Two!

Hot-lookin’ chicks gonna set my soul
Gonna set my soul on fire,
But that ain’t all that’s-a ready to burn,
I gotta get myself up higher!
There’s a thousand pretty women waitin’ out there,
And they’re all livin’ devil may care,
And I’m just the devil gotta get myself my share!
Viva Viagra! Viva Viagra!

An unabashed "flag waver"!
The other three verses to the song are right Here... For those who wanna add it to their set list! :p

Allison, don't be saying nice things about Boise. Too many darn Californians will move in. (I avoided the more appropriate obscenity.)
85 degrees and Tyrone Wells playing in the Grove outside my office window. I think I'll go down and have a beer and catch some free music (and try not to notice the young babes that are always there trying to be noticed.) Doesn't get much better.

Very true.

I've gotten my knickers in a twist lately, and I need to unknot them and remind myself to overlook some stuff that I don't like. I've been super sensitive to stuff lately, and in the end that is not good.

I respect the owners' position on this forum that we don't discuss certain issues.

However, I never take offense at people's opinions that differ with mine. I do enjoy a good political discussion. And if someone from another country wants to brag about the great things about their home, great! Nobody here has set out to harm another with their opinion or beliefs, so why should it be offensive what they think or believe?

The one thing I won't back away from is my admiration for members of the military, past and present. They risk their lives and their families sacrifice a lot in order to secure our ability to indulge in easy lives. And that goes equally for military from other countries represented on this forum. Members of the military are distinctly not the same as the politicians who dictate how they are used, so I don't blame the soldiers for whatever mistakes the politicians may make.

Feel free to disagree with me, I won't be offended.

And within 2 posters, someone takes the bait, hook, line and sinker.

I wasn't offended by the 'greatest country on Earth' claim. I just disagreed with it.

Expressing my opinion - exactly what you claim to be promoting. So it's OK to express an opinion, as long as it's pro American?

I think I just proved one of Schroeder's points.

And for what it's worth, I don't think Australia is the greatest country on Earth either.

But it comes damn close.

Aw Muzza... Don't blow it for me!
I've always wanted to run Down Under. That is kinda like the fantasy country.
Kinda like the Wild West and New York all rolled into one! With Good Beer.
And they speak English! (sorta)

Too damn cold to run to Canada, and they're sick of Americans anyway.

(As well as 'our' insistence that the USA is "America" in total disregard of the rest of the two continents that share the Same Name!)

It does have that line "if you don't bend, well those are the breaks." ;)

Oh yeah???
Well MY Ovation is better than YOUR Ovation.

Expressing my opinion - exactly what you claim to be promoting. So it's OK to express an opinion, as long as it's pro American?
As this plays out.... again... it just shows why this board just can't perform it's primary function if the listed guidlines are crossed.

I have bitten my tounge and went to private messages a couple time already. I have been told that I am "so wrong" in public but cannot reply in public. I would like to address muzza's statement BUT I CAN'T so I WON'T.

Mike... I embrace the wishes of your sunshine and lollipops statement and I'm sure it sounds good coming from the pulpit but in the real world, with so, so many bad people in it, it'll never happen.

Politically correct statements of unattainable and unquestionable virtue are posted but cannot be further examined.

Miles has said again & again... no politics. This proves again why. I think he has let this go this far to allow us to go full circle to once again, to prove the point.

Maybe it's time pull back... way back, from the edge here. Including even signature lines.

Mike.. look for a PM from me. And heads up, you're going to be offended.

Now... I need to wash this whole thing out of my head. It's taking up way to much time & energy.

If anyone wants to busk with us, come on over on Sunday.

It used to be until the flag-wavers and god-botherers turned it into an American only site.
there used to be half-a-dozen French guys, German guys, Poles and a lot more Brits and Aussies posting regularly on here. Then the military arrived for Operation OFC Ethnic Cleanse.
Judging by a lot of recent posts I guess Operation Democrat Cleanse is next to drive out those that haven't already gone.
It used to be about guitars and laughs and international. It used to be the wittiest site since Oscar Wilde got sent down. Now it's a self-help group for the Sarah Palin Fan Club.
This post was the equivalent of the childish halloween prank of lighting a bag of crap on someone's front porch, ringing the doorbell, then running behind some bushes to watch the "funny man get poop on his shoe."
The rest of us are acting like CNN, BBC, or FOX news reporters who can't resist getting our version of the fascinating poop-foot story out to our listeners.
Like most of the news on tv....it's really just not very interesting.

this topic was brought to my attention. I have to admit I never read it before I can't be omnipresent although some days I think I should.

anyway, if we just talk about guitars the problems will be fewer and further between.

once we break out the music, it transcends liberal v conservation, athiest v christian, etc etc etc.

we can all just get along to quote rodney king IF we look past these difference.

let's look at the common stuff. we all play guitar, we all make music, we all bleed, we will all turn into dust.

Yes I too am not all that excited about many world issues but I come here as an escape not as a place to air opinions.

Think about it once this place has not become an escape anymore people have moved on.

fact.

This thread has gone way OT!

I have had the priviledge of meeting and enjoying the company of a number of OFC members, some involved in this thread.

I don't give a rats about political persuasions, religious beliefs or patriotism.

What I care about is people.!!

It is the people here that make this forum what it is.

Guys and Gals lets just enjoy what we have!!

It's pretty damn special in the grand scheme of things.

Wow, that’s a great way to start someone’s day off...Know what Brad, don't even bother...I am not going to read it...I have enough locally to deal with that offends me, thanks.

I have tried to interject some positive here...
I certainly never set out to offend anyone, and I don't enjoy getting caught up in a quagmire over someone's issues...there's more than enough negative around.
I simply love guitars and the good they can bring in this world...it's been true for me and hopefully for others...

But, I am done here...history...end of story...
I am taking a hiatus and I wish you all the best!

Peace, out!

BACK TO THE ORIGINAL TOPIC ...

It sure looks like you all had a great time down there in Florida! I wish I could have joined you, but I'll just have to be happy for you and then sit and play my guitar for a while. We had a great Labor Day get together here in town also. I hope to post a couple pics on the Labor Day thread later. Right now I'm watching the three grand daughters (deployed parents) to give my wife (who is ill) a break. A BIG THANKS again to iffy for bringing some joy into my daughter's life while she was in Iraq. It looks like that will end up being continued in Germany also. DAVE ... the title "O'raqi refers to the name iffy gave the guitar he sent to her while she was deployed, which now has a bunch of signatures all over it from the many who benifited from playing it.
