He admitted that he has respect for Ovations. I told him about the O-Mandos (it's a bluegrass site after all!) and he said "What? Ovation makes Mandolins?!!" I gave him the link and he said he was going to check them out.... :D

Any time we can point them to the truth that Ovation has and does make Quality Stringed Instruments. If you were still in school you would get a star next to your name. Have a Great Day

We are brethren of kindred spirits... We play, therefore we are... "We are all just Prisononers here, of our own device."

I've been writing the praises of Ovations over on the banjer site... surprisingly no flaming of Ovations there... comments like "their high end guitars are pretty nice"... but the overwhelmingly frequent comment is how the Ovations "slip and slide off the leg/lap". I posted the link to the new bowl design, but "once slipped, forever slipped" I guess....

A rainsong is definitely on my list. Played a couple which were hard to put down, especially a 12 string. I also prefer small bodies, but with 14 frets at the bod. I have another friend with an old ovation, with the tonewood really warpy looking, I suppose from years of the top expanding and shrinking, and the body remaining static. Looks gnarly but sounds nice." :)

At ther risk of sounding Elite-ist...do we really want people like this owning Ovations... think of the neighborhood ;) Hey don't get me wrong, some of my best friends play the banjo. Did it myself at one time, then I repented.
