Location: Keller, TX | OK, not for good. I need to check the internals. I have what appears to be a short. I took off the screw and plate to the back of my Adamas W597. I can see the small battery box and the larger Optima preamp box, but can't see how to remove them. They don't appear to be "snap-in". Anyone know how to remove these? |

this weekend I successfully replaced the OP-24 of my Adamas 1688 with a new Optima preamp. I put some pics in the gallery.
The secret is, that the brown Optima label is fixed with an adhesive foil. Carefully remove the label - then you see four screws which hold the preamp.
If you have questions, don't hesitate to contact me. Good luck!

Location: Keller, TX | Thanks! I'll give it a try. BTW, where did you get the Optima preamp? Was the Op24 you removed a Op24+C or +e? I am considering replacing the electronics in my Celebrity with an OP24 that has a tuner (+e or +c).

the Optima was from ebay, but I heared on this board, that you also can get it from the factory ($150 ??). Sorry, I replaced it just with an standard OP-24 (no tuner).
