was just reading a post om acousticguitarforum about Taylor guitars sounding better at the 8-10 year mark. It got me to wondering about how Ovation sound eventually opens up. My 1983 Martin sounds absolutely different than it did when it was new - tons mellower. I've never owned an Ovation long enough to experience that, and don't even know if it happens the same way on a wood top Ovation? My last Ovation, about 30 years ago, was a used Glen Campbell. I only kept it about a year, so no reference there. Do Ovations (wood top) get better with age like all wood guitars? Is it noticeable enough to be of any significance?

P.S. MODERATORS... when do I get my notice that I can post in other threads?

Having played some older Ovations, it does seem they are warmer and more 'open'...though it seems to defy logic that the bowl could age like the top. I'm wondering if bracing patterns have changed as well.
