I came across a few pics of your friend Marcel Dadi while surfin' the net and I wonder if you or others might be able to answer a few questions? * * * * Is the slothead in this picture #37 or was it custom made for Marcel? (with cutaway?) http://www.ovationfanclub.com/photos/Trboy_69626_marceljeanfelix.jpg * * * * In this picture of Marcel Dadi & Jean Felix Lalanne...where have I seen the Adamas Jean Felix is playing? (Is this one of your's Sam?) http://www.ovationfanclub.com/photos/Trboy_70317_dadiolymp.jpg * * * * Anyone know what brand of guitar this is? (looks like a mandolin on steroids) http://www.ovationfanclub.com/photos/Trboy_70413_super%20mando.jpg * * * * I don't have any questions about these next pics I just thought they were kind of cool..... http://www.ovationfanclub.com/photos/Trboy_70609_marcel6.jpg ** http://www.ovationfanclub.com/photos/Trboy_70518_dadinb.jpg ** http://www.ovationfanclub.com/photos/Trboy_70701_marcelchet.jpg ** Thanks---Mike

" * * * * Is the slothead in this picture #37 or was it custom made for Marcel? (with cutaway?) I have been told that this was a later adamas body (early cutaway model)fitted with a slothead adamas neck.It is not #37.A custom built model for Dadi.As you can tell from the lower epalette Ovation had not even designed the small soundhole epalette yet.It looks a bit ugly since they do not finish evenly on the body.Bill can probaly add more to this story. In this picture of Marcel Dadi & Jean Felix Lalanne...where have I seen the Adamas Jean Felix is playing? (Is this one of your's Sam?) Not one of mine but it does look like an adamas prototype from 1-26.Looks like a later prototype probably between 20-26.Probably given to Marcel by Charlie Kaman. There are a few strange adamas models floating around in France owned by some of Marcels family and some freinds that are custom built adamas models .Built by the factory im sure for Marcel.Im not sure who owns his slothead adamas now.. Anyone know what brand of guitar this is? (looks like a mandolin on steroids)This looks like some type of Italian built semihollow body.I have seen some Italian semi's that look similar to this.I cannot be sure though.

The french shore do like Ovations/Adamii Here's the website I found the pics above.....It's mostly in french but if you pull down the menu's at the top and just click on a heading you see a whole lot of Adamii (more of the lopsided slotheads, as Sam mentioned they must have been made just for Marcel & friends)and Ovations of every type.....Way Cool!! It good to see a guitar website where the majority of the pickers are playing O's. There are a few other brands (alot of Taks) but it's not overrun with Martains ;) http://perso.wanadoo.fr/denispicking/liste/membres/membres.htm Enjoy.........Mike

The rope binding guitar is one of those as Sam described, don't know which. The other guitar is Marcel trying to be Merle Travis. Also interesting is the last picture with the white Charlie amp in the background. It had two channels and one was for electric and the other acoustic. Certainly one of the first acoustic amps. These were made in Europe and Marcel was influential in getting them named Charlie. Where he ever came up with that is beyond me....
