This was a made fot TV with Ed Asner as the dad.
He looks and sounds a lot like my dad... I look for it every year... I havent seen it for 3 or 4 years now.

I'd stay up late for this one...

Woz;
Wasn't "The Homecoming" the pilot for "The Waltons"?
Or was the actor who played "JohnBoy"in it?
(For some reason, that title makes some kind of "Waltons" connection in my mind . .

No...
This was an Old man who just found out he didn't have much time left and he had been a ass for years... He finds his x wife and they call all the kids to show up...

Modern day 1975 /1980...

It doesn't fit everyone... It just reminds me of my Dad. Ed Asner plays a good roll. It is kind of sappy

Screw Jim Carrey!! . . Karloff IS The Grinch!!

Y'can't beat "A Charlie Brown Christmas" . .
Simplistic "Graphic Blandishment" (a term taken from the end credits), funny/sappy storyline, phenomenal soundtrack!!
