Having stuck with me through some pretty dodgy musical tastes throughout my life I reckoned my leftie Balladeer deserved a decent Christmas this year - coming up for 25 years together :)

So I sent it off to Paul Templeman to have electrics fitted. After some discussion on what was available for lefties or possibly keeping the period feel of the guitar I decided on an Op 30, largely because of the built in tuner .

Well it arrived back today and I'm blown away. The Balladeer has always to my ear had a great sound - some time ago for my 50th birthday I considered buying a Legend but couldn't justify the diff in price when i heard the sound - but now I see what the people on this forum mean when they talk about Ovations coming alive when they are plugged in.

The sound is awesome; strong, consistent, yet still with the sweetness of tone that I've come to love.

I thought I'd post this to publicly thank Paul for a great job on the guitar. It's going to be a loud Christmas in our house

I was thinking on the same line this morning. My Balladeer is ready to make a trip to the factory for a neck re-set. While it is there why not have a pickup installed? It's not like it's a collectors item.

Mose got the EQ-preamp treatment, too. Heck, why not? Resale *maybe* $100.00. Hellfire, it's got BIG stones now.
