I've got an 1868 Elite, circa 1991, with the OP24 preamp.

I understand the OP24+C is a direct drop-in replacement...what about the Optima--will it fit in the OP24 rectangular cutout?? Of course I realize I'd have to add the XLR jack, but it'd sure be nice to have the XLR output available in addition to the hi-Z.

Are there any online dealers that sell just the preamps, or do I have to order them from Ovation?
About how much will the OP24+C or Optima cost if I order it from Ovation?

Thanks in advance!!!

The XLR and 1/4 inch jacks are both on a small circuit card (I think?). This makes placement of the jacks tricky on a SS bowl. You may not be able to re-use the existing 1/4 jack hole.
