Hey seesquare - Do you need a case with guitar parts included?

I think his definition of hairline is as same as Donald Trumps! Wide and blurry.

1617 BIN of $125

I called the owner of this guitar this afternoon. He told me he is not a guitar player, but he borrowed the guitar to use as a prop in a school play. The guitar was knocked over by accident and it broke the neck. He also said he had to buy the guitar from the school music teacher after it was broken. It's a bummer such a nice old Ovation got broken this way.

It's not a hairline, it's a full toupee and a long ponytailed one at that, several of them.

I have a 1617 that I really like. Thought about buying this one for the case, since I do not have an Ovation case and there would be some other parts.
Did you ask if it had the electronics? He said it has a hole for a mic?, (pre-amp?)
Got my eye on another sale, can't bring two in at the same time!

That definetely trips the Sonar.

Sorry I was so sarcastic PH. That is a shame.

Someone ought to rescue it!

Thanks for watching out for me, Mike. This critter comes along when I just picked up another project, the holidays are upon us, and my exchequer is depleted. Otherwise, the case would be worth an investment. Two repairs on that neck? I think its done now.

I understand that one! I was picking on you just knowing that your recovery efforts have inspired at least a few Living Room Luthiers.

These are going for $300-$450 considering and a neck replacement would make it an act of kindness.

However - Gorrila Snot does do wonders?

Well, I don't know, Noel. Parting it out, you could recoup the investment. Case, electronics, tuners, rosette, bridge, strap buttons- do the math.
Honestly, as a repair project, given the ubiquity of the instrument, I probably would have gone the $125.00 starting price, maybe $150.00. Emotional attachment, and intrinsic value, are frequently not related.

I would toy with the $150 max...

...unless the parts could ressurect an existing loved one!

Just don't know.

I actually bid on it, because I wanted the case. The other item I was looking at did not go my way, so tried for this one.
Russ said he had written to see if it had electronics, I doubt if it did.
Anyway, the selling price made me appreciate my 1617 a little more.
