Thanks to all for the help and interest. Especially to Moody for his inspirational words about doing a guitar in Tung oil! :p
Pros:
The Tung oiled neck, the re-dressed frets and the color/tone. This neck is fast and smoove!
Cons:
I should have been more aggressive and changed the shape and contour of the body with more beveled edges. I wish I had a spray/drying room.

One thing I want to point out. In a previous post I heard about the glue saturated newspaper being placed between the neck and body to "solidify" the union. When I took it apart I fas intrigued by the 1" of the CT Ledger (or whatever). For this union I placed a portion of Psalm 33 in there.
Soon to show on eBay cuz I need the money for the next project. Any interest OFCer give me an email, cuz I like you all more. If you prefer the tung necks this is for you. The maple on maple mix gives it a pointed wailing sound over my Ebony and mahogany BW.
Everything was done in pure Tung Oil with a Boston Polish cover for the body and neck.
Flattest, smoothest neck I have ever seen! Kinda makes me wish I knew how to play an electric!

Woody-
That is a danged fine nice looking example of a Viper. Tell me, though, you say you added a portion of Psalm 33, was it Psalm 33:1-5? Would be most appropriate, I think.
At any rate...very nice. Now, if only I could find some way to fix the pickup adjustment on Project Viper...the screws appear to have stripped the plastic part out. =(

Try some JB weld or other epoxy and recut the theads. If you are real lazy coat the screw with vaseline and inject the epoxy around it. Just as it starts to cure - turn the threads! |

How about a lifetime supply of exotic wood TRCs! Thanks for all your help on this one. I intend to bug the heck out of you on the next one as well. We'll see if a Sunburst with dark and light Tung Oil can be achieved! |
