Location: Las Cruces, NM | Just saw Garth Brook's Inside Fame on CMTV and there he was with an Ovation in his hands during his early Oklahoma days, a cutaway model that I couldn't identify. I am sure it was one he BOUGHT and that his later guitars were given to him.
I was going to brag about lurking and reading and not making any smartass comments, then somebody asked a mandolin question and my big mouth opened up as usual, SORRY |

Location: Denver, Colorado | On the bright side, he plays Takamine I have two myself. A black 12 string and and a Santa Fe PSF-94. They are wonderful guitars. My 1617 will always be my baby as well as my main work horse but I do use the Tak's alot when performing. They sound great plugged in and can take almost as much abuse as my legend. If Ovation wants to start giving out guitars to country artists , I'll take one (hint hint) Even though I am just small potatoes (a local Colorado Country Boy)I would like a sunburst Custom Legend pretty please. Chuckle... |

So in principle, the more Tak's that people buy, the more revenue for Kaman and ultimately the bigger the R&D budget at Ovation to come up with the kind of stuff we like. Makes sense? |

The marketing department doesn't work that way. here's different product managers and then there are different people in charge of marketing and manufacturing. (read different territories) Ever seen your town government fight over budget allocations?

Location: Las Cruces, NM | I'm not much of a Garth fan but I liked his songs when he first showed up on the scene. I don't recall ever seeing him break a good guitar. I would have thought an Ovation would be ideal for his frantic show. He could have slid down a chute on one rode it like a bucking bronc, or even played one they do sound good. |
