pros, cons, problems, etc. |

The Hex-Fx is interesting for about 5 minutes and will need a different pickup to the one in your guitar |

Location: Massachusetts | I guess I'm in the minority. I played 2 guitars with an Optima preamp-I had one at home for a week and tried through 3 amps.. and I found my OP 24+ (the one without a tuner) to be more versatile and give better tone. The Optima adds a notch which is nice but the 2 middle tone controls really seem to only tweek the mids and the preamp overall seems to have less effect on the bass and treble than my OP24+.
Sounds strange but even though you only have bass, mid and treble you also have a mid shift button and the contour?? button plus eq in and out. Just an endless variety of tones I can get through that preamp.
For a tuner I have a Sabine tuner that sticks on the body of the guitar when I need it.
So if the OP24+c is my preamp plus a tuner it is pretty good.
Though clearly the Optima is a higher end preamp if mine ever crapped out on the balladeer I would not put an Optima in.
Like I said, I'm in the minority. LOL. |

I feel like the kid driving up to school in his father's old Tempest . . .
My CBalladeer has a lowly FET-3 in it,
and my Legend-12 is pushing a Op-X in it . . .
But then again, my "amp" is a 300W P.A system,
so f&^k it. . . :) |

a pair of Peavey cabinets (12# & horn in each),
and a Fender 100W bi-amped monitor.
It's a bit crude, but it fills the tip jar at the end of the night . . . . |

..that's all that's needed! At least until TMG plays the AstroDome... then you can just use their PA Set up! |

Now that I'd actually pay to see. I enjoyed hearing him sing and play at the OFC gathering,
he's got great chops and an excellent voice!
Trust me, Texans will eat it up!! They'll love it! |
