I've picked up a few projects over the last 6 months and now that I have some down time, will encounter the first one. I had been searching for a decent 1614 at a good price and finally got one. Just my luck it was a left handed model. My thought was okay no pickguard, I can work with this. Re-did the nut and now it seems to have an intonation issue. Compared the pickup to right hand model 1619 CL and 1718 Elite and it appears to be indentical, Am I missing something here, please any advice is more than welcome. Thanks John

Original case. | ||

If my memory serves me right, the Greeks had an instrument they called the kathara, and the Arabs, when they took over egypt and palestine picked up the instrument when they went to spain, calling it something like qitara, and then to spain where it became guitara and then to france to become guitare, and then to england to become guitar. The other ancestor of the guitar was the arabic ud (sp) which came to europe another way, I believe to italy via sicily, with the name changing from Al Ud to something like Lude to Lute when it made it's way to France. If this is wrong or if you heard it differently ... So technically, the root of word guitar is greek.
