They made 8 or 9 electrics (and I think some basses).

The GX-200 reminds me of a GP.

Sometime in the early/mid-80's Takamine did an acousic Flying V. The one I played was owned by Nick Lowe, and it was crap. Nick however is a national treasure and one of the best English songwriters ever (along with Shane McGowan, Kirsty Mccoll & Boo Herwerdine) Memory may be playing tricks here, but I think I rememeber Dave Edmunds with a Takamine acoustic Explorer, the single was "Queen Of Hearts" by Hank Devito, with Carlene Carter singing backup. Those days are somewhat blurred

Al, can't remember, it would be nice see some of that stuff on DVD. Dave Edmunds was playing the exlplorer/V thing, but I'm sure it was owned by Nick. Nick owned at least 2 or 3 Hamer Basses & I know he had an 8-string & a 12 string. It's been a while, I must make the effort to get back in touch with some of those guys.

Nick came out on stage at an Elvis Costello show at the Greek Theater at US Berkeley and if memory serves correct, played a Jaguar on a couple of tunes, including "What's So Funny".

I don't think Tak ever made an Explorer acoustic. Danny Ferrington did, maybe it was one of those? Or a custom job.

I don't think that they were bolt-ons. Maybe a big center joint, like an SG is constructed?

Mostly set-neck with a few through-neck models.
