Location: Fort Worth, TX | First off... "Hi!"... I'm Dave Kellems and this is the second internet forum I've joined. I'm a venerated elder on the other one, it's about the sign business.
A few weeks ago I stopped into a local guitar store to browse and immediately noticed a beautiful model Ovation guitar, the 40th anniversary Balladeer. I knew right then I had to have it. I had a Fender acoustic 12 string and Ibanez electric bass out in the truck I offered in trade - thinking I'd have to make up a cash difference. The store owner offered me an even trade, which was great for me because I had a total of $370 invested in those two instruments.
I was told this guitar was held by an Ovation rep and that it never came out of the closet. On top of the fact that it's flawless (not even pick scratches), it's serial number 3. I am a happy camper/picker indeed! My last Ovation was a Glen Campbell about 30 year ago I've always regretted selling. I now play rhythm guitar weekly in an orchestra where I played bass for 14 year previously and couldn't be happier. I am more pleased with the sound, fit and finish of this Ovation than my Martin D28 Custom (a 150th anniversary model - guess I have a thing for anniversaries). This guitar leaves nothing to be desired.
Anyway, glad I found y'all (thru acousticguitar.com). Looking forward to daily visits. |

You going to put in a pickup or with the orchestra, are you playing into a mic? |

We'll need proof in the form of photographs of course. The more the better. :D
That was a great deal! |

Location: Tennessee | Welcome!! I have one of those ... and it is a fantastic guitar. I recently had it at a gathering of enthusiasts, and everyone marveled at the near-perfect execution of what it is that makes a great Ovation. Congrats. |
