Anyone who lived in NY/North Jersey (from the early 60's on) will know who he was . . .

Great WNEW DJ with an incredibly distinct voice. I used to listen to him all the time when I lived in New York. He will be missed.

I remember one time he refered to Pink Floyd as "The Floyd". He was one of a kind.

He's been on the radio for nearly eternity, and will be missed.

As the years went by, he turned into a bit of a pompous *^%$#*, but I have some very fond memories of him, first during the days of "Beatlemania", and then during the heyday of 70's free-form AOR FM radio in NY . . .

One of my fondest memories as a teenager growing up in Queens during the 70's was listening to WNEW-FM. Their free-wheeling rock format opened my mind and ears to music you just could not hear anywhere else.

It was sad to see the WNEW-FM go down the drain over the years until the station itself disappeared a few years ago. It became all talk, and now I think it's some light music station catering to women.

R.I.P. Scottzo. Thanks for the memories.
