I'm interested in taking some guitar lessons. I hope one day to be able to play songs instead of just butcher them!

Can anyone recommend some good guitar teachers in the NYC area?

Hey adamas72,
If you go to NYU for guitar lessons you have to watch out for falling students.
I just went to a suicide risk assessment training seminar today. The incidents at NYU were brought up in the discussion. I is unfortunate that these events are the only thing lately that are making NYU appear in the news.

If you're into classical, the Brooklyn Acadamy of Music, Music School can hook you up.

It's easier to get driving lessons from a New Yorker!

Thanks for the tips, guys. I actually contacted Matt Smith. He's on the road until December, but he gave me some recommendations, which I will follow up on.
