What exactly is the difference between these two? Is it something with the electronics?

The 1 is passive with a separate Vol & Tone for each pickup. The 11 is active (operates, like the Breads, Deacons & P-deluxes on two 9V cells) and has a master volume with active 3-band graphic EQ. Other than that that pickups & construction are identical. Magnums 3 & $ are the same as 1 & 2 electronically, omly the body shape, finish & PU surrounds differ.
