We have a connection with the rock and roll hall of fame on this message board. It has been mentioned to me that perhaps we can sponsor a fan club event there and have a weekend of festivities.

I have never visited this venue and think it would be kinda cool, especially if we can make it a gathering and jam etc.

any interest? let me know and I will pursue it further.

That would be awesome. It is a great venue. On the lake and you could go there just to look at the guitars. But John's Sargent Pepper Uniform is gone. That was the ultimate icon for me.

Rock Hall To Open In Arizona

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum plans to open a satellite museum early next year in downtown Phoenix. The "on tour" museum will be housed in a two-level building near America West Arena and will remain for at least five years, becoming permanent if it's well received.

Featuring traveling displays, rare items connected to artists and interactive educational exhibits, the new museum could draw more than 100,000 visitors a year, organizers said. Details will be announced today (May 12) outside the arena.

"It becomes one more little anchor to come downtown," said Dale Jensen, a businessman from Paradise Valley who has been on the Cleveland-based Hall of Fame's board for more than a year. Jensen is also the largest single investor in the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team.

Jensen is a software multi-millionaire, part owner of Suns and Diamondbacks...

Well we are thinking spring but it will probably be in conjunction with a concert or some event that is there. I know the OFC factory tour will be next june and the HFC is in oct. I am hoping to get some crossover from the Hamer guys on this.

so to answer your question nothing firm yet

Al, this sounds like it could be a good idea. Cliff is right about the weather. Would you want to get it in before school starts back up in Sept?

Not sure if we can get it all together in a few weeks. I am looking at maybe spring time or in conjunction with a scheduled event.

I'm definately interested - been wanting to see the R&RHOF for some time now. My wife hasn't been convinced it's a worthwhile destination. But as an OFC event, well, let's play!

Sure!!!
But keep in mind Al that your asking people to spend half a day driving/flying in weather that has the potential to be (at the best) "annoying", (at the worst) "deadly" to spend money at a particular destination. Certain destinations have a certain "splendor" during the winter season:
Lake Placid.
Aspen.
Mt Washington.
Quebec City.
Vail.
Breckenridge.
even New York City (at times).

Al, . . . . . . . s'friggin' CLEVELAND!!!

Al,
I'd try to make it no mater what time of year.
But then again, I'm thinking about driving it.
If it's Cold...I'll wear a parka! :D
I know ...your thinkin..who needs a parka? What can I say...I'm originally from East Texas..where the Winters are much milder.

If the date is outside of the normal school year, it may be easier for teachers and people with school age kids to make it.

I can see the point that Al is trying to make in that it WOULD be nice to do it when there's something cool going on there.

With the kinda' luck that I have, . . . it'll probably be some huge Springsteen exhibit . . . . .

exactly, If there is a really cool show or exhibit and we can arrange our trip then it would be great if, it is only a tour then we can go for weather etc, BUT from organizing these things before, I know that I just go for the date announce it and what ever happens happens. It is an impossible task to accomodate everyones caveats.
