Location: Upper Left USA | I just spent five days in church at Creation Northwest. The cathedral was the Gorge Amphitheater in George, WA - Just down the street from Seesquare in Yakima. The chior and speakers kept rotating out and through as well. Newsboys, Switchfoot, Casting Crowns, Jars of Clay, Delirious, Relient K, Paul Baloche, Jeremy Camp, Steven Curtis Chapman and Big Daddy Weave to name a few. All had a positive and uplifting message. The temperature was in the 100's for 20,000 people, a bzillion port-o-potties and 25 showers.
I did not see a single Ovation on the main stage! Zero. Nadda. Nil. Zilch.
Gibson/LP alikes and Fenders.
I did like Paul Baloche's Larivee (sound hole at 12 o'clock when played?).
Found a couple of O's throughout the campground though. Caught a 1112 like my first O and a left handed C257.
think I saw one Hamer on stage. Too bad. |

Location: Tampa, Florida | You probably saw a lot of Taylors, and Paul Baloche's guitar sounds like a McPherson (soundhole at 12 o'clock). See any CA guitars (carbon fiber)? |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | Mike, maybe Paul Baloche's guitar was a Tacoma???? Never seen a Larrivee with anything other than the standard round sound hole.
Ovation is suffering from the "acoustic renaissance"....acoustic players are craving WOOD, and it's not there with Ovations. Unfortunately, that just shows how closed-minded many players are. The LXs will help with the sound part of it, but nothing will help with the image, unless they go to making the wood roundback like the one employee did....if that could be made to sound good and be affordable, I bet they'd sell the bejeebers out of them.
Sorry, cwk2, this has slipped into marketing....I'll do it myself....CLICK!!!!

Location: Upper Left USA | Probably a McPherson - I will have to look it up.
There was a CA guitar signed by the attending bands and speakers that went to a young lady in Texas.
I am still coming down from the weekend. Too bad. |

Location: Upper Left USA | I was watching closely too. I did manage to give away a couple of OFC Picks and probably more information than they wanted to a couple of Ovation packing Youngsters. |
