This is self explanatory I guess:

Legend LX 12-String

Elite-T (LX) 12 String

Elite-T (LX)
Just to clarify, the Elite-T now has the LX upgrade.

How unexpected!

So what's the story on Fender, for sale or not? What does the vibe on the floor say?

The Elite T LX is old news to me....our GC has had one for over a month. It's one of the limited edition "flame" ones. The 12-strings, though....

Now, when are the deep bowl LXs coming?????

CWK2,

I read an article with a statement from the prez Schultz saying without a doubt Fender is NOT for sale. He said they do a valuation audit every couple of years to get a different gauge of their financial state, and this sometimes raises suspicion. He was adamant that Fender is not for sale.

Protesting too much? - I have no idea.

FYI, I am not at NAMM this time around. I am in touch with Alpep who passed the info along. I will ask the followup questions tomorrow and post any details.

Mr. O.

As I shop, compare, and ponder, I am rapidly narrowing my desires to a shallow-bowl Elite T. I am thinking my perfect O for P&W would be a 1878 Elite T 12 String with a super-shallow body.

Can you find out if this exists?

Thanks

Please tell me the 12 strings sound great, play great, and will come in blue! I've put off my 12 string buy waiting to see what is coming.

Scott, that could be true and then again if it isn't that is just what you'd expect him to say. Bill is getting up there and will need to cash out for the family sometime I would think but you never know. There are some who can never leave the controls.

I keep hearing that Fender is set to buy out Tacoma, which has recently cut its product lineup severely.

Any news on that?

I talked to Al and got clarification that there is no Deep Bowl LX on the short-term horizon.

that is all.

No deep LX...too bad. I think it would be a winner.
I'm glad I didn't wait for it.
Moody....what ya gonna do now? I know you had your heart set on a deep LX.

Yep, I want everything NOW!!!! This is the United States, isn't it????? :D

However.....I played a 30th Anniversary Custom Legend at Elderly today....HOLY CRAP!!!! The absolute BEST Ovation I've ever played!!!! Even better than the FD-14. And they had a good Legend LX, too.

Actually, my only complaint about the 30CL is one that Brad had stated before....TOO MUCH ornamentation! I'm a "the regular Legend is OK with me" kinda guy.

They had a regular black mid-bowl Elite T at Elderly today and I assure you it had the LX truss rod cover. The label says nothing about LX, though.

You got the wrong dude Roger!!! I love the abalone and the carved bridge. Makes em look so purddy!
I played the 30th and the Dimeola side by side and went with the Dimeola but they were very simular.

OAO,
How was Elderly? I'll be in Chicago next weekend and plan to rent a car and head up to Lansing. Are there plenty of potential new axes up there for me to test run? I have been all over their site and want to try out the D28 and D35 1935 sunbursts, the Breedlove focus dread, and the CA guitars. Can't wait.
The Elite I have (and am selling for some reason-GAS is a powerful force) has the TRC on it and it is definitly lighter and sounds better than the one i had about a year ago for a short while.

Brad, I thought you made a comment about the 30CL having too much stuff on it???? Sorry, my mistake! Guess I'm the one full of poo!!!! :)

That is good to hear that your ADII is close to it, I am considering getting one of those for my "collection"(but I want a black one).

zchord, not everything on the web site is out where you can try it, but several are. What is out: the 30CL, Legend LX natural, Balladeer LX cherry, Elite T black, super-shallow bowl Balladeer, used 25th Anniversary, used Custom Legend 6-string, new Custom Legend 12-string, new redburst Melissa Etheridge 12-string, new blue Adamas 12-string.

The D-35 sunburst is out as well. I didn't look closely at the Breedlove guitars, so I don't know what is out.

If you're interested in something that is on the website that I didn't mention, like the 6778 LX, they will be happy to get it out for you, it is in storage in the basement.

The Ovations are in a small room in the back corner of the main room where the cash registers/main counter is. Right now they are sharing space with Takamines, Rainsongs and some other smaller brands, the CAs as well, I think.
