Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | Last night a friend of mine brought over his new Martin D-28. I still have it here until next Monday when he gets back from a business trip. It is a nice sounding guitar, but is just isn't an Ovation. No matter how hard I try, I just can't get use to playing a wooden back acoustic guitar. Maybe this is because I have always played Ovations, but Ovations just feel right to me. it doesn't matter if I sit or stand, my Ovations just fit me. Anybody else feel this way when they play another brand of acoustic guitar? I like the Martin, but I love Ovations! |

Location: High, in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado | Same here! The first time I played an O and felt that ergonomic fit, I was in heaven. Not to mention the SOUND! That was it, I was in love! Now, all I own are Ovations... I can't hardly stand to try my friends other guitars, I just don't like em... It's kind of like riding some one else’s horse...

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | Agreed.....I've only owned Ovation/Applause/Adamas acoustics for the last 30 years....anything else feels WEIRD.
The salesman that sold me my Adamas 12-string noticed it when I was holding/resting my right arm on one of the other Os I was looking at...."you look so COMFORTABLE with that round back"....
You bet. |

Location: Yucaipa, California | As a convert to Ovations (former Gibson snob), I have also found the "comfort zone" of playing my Ovations! Whenever I play a "box" I get what feels like "tennis elbow" in my right arm. It is from having to reach so far around the body and then force the unnatural angle to finger the strings. It puts undue stress on the elbow area and hurts like fire after about 10-minutes!
I NEVER get that when I play my Ovations! :D Ergonomics indeed!
