Joined: November 2003 Posts: 6 | I need to remove the stock strap pin on my 1111 in order to install a jack pin for my new pickup. I have already removed the screw in the pin with a Philip screw driver. Is there a trick to easily remove the rest? There is a 3-spoke starfish like thing inside the body. How do I disconnect the 3-spoke thing with the outside end pin? Please help ASAP.

You want to straighten out, the molly nut in there. They're straight when they go in and then are pulled back to lock in place. You need to push it back open again. If you can push it enuf it will pull out. You probably can't get it that far but if you can get it far enough you can pull it back out of the hole enuf to clip the three prongs with pliers or something like that. Good luck.

I take a pair of wire cutters preferably not small string cutters and cut out the outside ring of the molly nut attacking it straight on, this will expose the three prongs that extend inside the bowl. Squeeze the prongs together with pliers and push the molly inside the bowl. There is less chance of chipping the paint or cracking the bowl this way. Good Luck

Joined: November 2003 Posts: 6 | When I registered my user name as "Standing Ovation", I didn't expect I get that since it's a neat name but the forum let me use that. I was sort of surprised. Little did I know someone is already using "StandingOvation". Sorry Dave, I hope you don't mind. And for the rest of you, shouldn't be too hard to tell there's a space between the two words, should it? :)
