I am having my pickguard cut but before I do have any of yall ever put strat pickups in a breadwinner or deacon? The distance between the bottom of the neck and the bridge will be tight for 3 strat pickups should I angle just the bridge pickup or all, the pickups are EMG's so the string spacing will not be a problem. Let me know all you Ovation Obiewonkinobees out there you are my only hope! (A misquote from the first Star Wars, how desperate can I be!!!!!)

I guess it's a matter of taste. I think the original breadwinner pickups (the large single coils) even without the pre-amp sound better. Next I would use Firebird pickups.

To answer your question, just putting the bridge pickup at an angle will help those high's in that position.

The problem will be the neck pickup. The 24 fret neck is too long and gets in the way of where that one should be. Bridge and middle shouldn't be a problem.

Bill's right, on a Strat the neck pickup sits directly under where the 24th fret would be if it had one. Change the position & spacing of the pickups & you subtley change the tone. I have a Breadwinner with 3 Viper single-coil pickups which doesn't sound exactly like a Strat, and nor do I expect or want it to. It does provide a lot of convincing Fender-ish sounds though, especially bridge/middle & neck/middle. A great sound is all 3 pickups on, which is something standard Strat wiring can't do.

Why would you wanna do this? I'd rather buy a strat, so i'd really have a stratsound...

And leave my guitar as it is..
