Lot nicer than that ugly bearclaw spruce we've seen on some guitars, why would anyone want a guitar that had been clawed by a bear when they could buy this one and make at least 5 or six belts and hat bands. Saves having to round up the rattlers. |

| I wonder if I could special order one from Ovation with a seen of ‘Dogs Playing Poker’?
I know Martin would make one and if they could get ten orders they’d have it signed and call it a ‘Special Issue’ |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Would have been nice if they chose a better snake pattern and maybe even had the factory do it on an Adamas. The woven top Adamas would accent a wicked eel, python, Elephant or Sting Ray pattern.
However, for a prop for a photo, I guess this worked. |

Location: Las Cruces, NM | doesn't seem to be a lot of respect on this board for snakeskin guitars, suppose they made one with a surfer theme and called it MOB, would it be attacked like this?

This is the Ko-reeun version of snakeskin. nuff said. In the early 80's Hamer had snake and dragon skin guitars made and we did some on the T-Bolts. I think the guy was Jim O'Connor from LA. You might not like the look, but his work and attention to detail was outstanding. |

Did they throw a rattle into the soundbox to make it authentic like the worm in the mescal?
Alamagordo, NM just up the road has an annual rattlesnake roundup that exercises the animal rights people something awful, good thing they haven't seen this guitar or spikes would start showing up in the logs that Ovation saws to make their guitars.
I suspect that we are seeing the impression of snakeskin, rather than the real thing, sorta like the Edsel was an impression of a Ford car as seen by marketing types. |
