This is just a shameless plug....... I'm joining Memphis-based (that's Memphis,Tennessee, not Memphis, Egypt) singer-songwriter Bob Cheevers for the Northern leg of his current UK tour, and while I realise most of the board membership is in the USA there must be a lot of lurkers on this side of the pond. Needless to say I'll be tooled up with several Ovations.......

Dates as follows:

Tue. July 1st Bein Inn, Glenfarg, Perthshire, Scotland
Thu. July 3rd Aldersyde Hotel, Isle Of Arran, Ayrshire, Scotland
Fri. July 4th Aldersyde Hotel, Isle Of Arran, Ayrshire, Scotland
Sun.July 6th The Millhouse, Springwell, Washington, Tyne & Wear
Mon. July 7th BBC Radio Newcastle (noon)
Mon. July 7th The Ropery, Sunderland (hosting songwriters session)
Sat. July 12th Laing Art Gallery Newcastle Upon Tyne (Noon)
Sat. July 12th The Ropery Sunderland
Sun. July 13th The White Hart, Hart Village, Hartlepool, Teeside.

I guess that means you'll be out of circulation on the fan club for a while eh wot ???

Good luck with the tour , and may your roadie's have a firm grip on the equipment ( especially the Ovation's )

I'll have my laptop, so I can check in when I can scrounge a phone-line. I wish we could afford roadies, but even if we could I wouldn't let them near a guitar

Paul

I revealed that you would be playing your new guitar, everybody should line up to hear it.

Thanks Bill. Having used my new guitar for the first part of the tour I can tell you all that the pickup/mic combo is a great success. The mic subtely adds the "air" and presence that you can't eq into a piezo without making it cut your head off. I found I had to eq a lot of the bass out of the mic & it only needed a 70/30% mix with the piezo to make a difference, and of course the monitors carried only the piezo signal. The bone saddle was definately worth the expense.
