Hello everyone. Does the plant in Korea make Ovations exclusively? Are they made in a plant that makes many other guitar brands like Samick does?....Paul Hebert

I'd guess they're not produced exclusively, a large factory could not survive just producing one brand. Most Far-East factories build dozens of brands for various distributors around the world. Some brands like Fender are made in more than one factory depending on the price-range. In some cases the same instruments have generic parts but different brand names depending on distributor or territory. Even the big names like Yamaha produce other brands. The early G-series Takamines were essentially re-branded Indonesian-made Yamahas.

When we started over there there was just one. Now it's gone and I guess that they come from more than one. Also some come from China (I think) and who knows else where. Maybe Indosneezeya? Maybe Taiwan?

I've heard the cheapest ones are made in Lower Slobovia but can only be found in Appalachia, they were designed in the Skonk Works and all look like banjos with AAAA spruce tops. The best ones are the Lil' Abner collector's editions signed by Al Capp.

I like a gutiar that sounds great, and will make my strummin sound good, no matter were it was made. I am American working in an American gutiar factory, other peoples tend to add a diffrent bit of folkey-ness found only on planet earth. Why do imports cost lesS. I would try working there if I could. Imports help make the world go round. My challenge is to out produce anyone and hopfully the American product will be equally as cost effective as imports, AND IN SOME CASES SOUND AS GOOD.
