Location: St. Louis Mo. | Anyone else out there start out on an Applause guitar.? I got my mine when I was just out of high school. I remember that I thought it was Just the best there was because only a rich guy could ever buy an Ovation. I have long since parted ways with the guitar but I still have a few pictures of it laying around some where. I remember going to the music store and the Ovations just seemed huge next it. Ok thats my memory lane trip for the day. |

Location: tennessee | I actually started playing on another brand, but my first Ovation was an Applause. I bought mine after they started making them with the Ovation-shaped headstock. On stage it looked just like a real O! Decided a little over a year ago to change over to nylon strings exclusively. Traded the Applause for a Celebrity as a graduation gift when I got my master's degree. Kinda like trading up from a Chevette to a Corvette. :D |

Location: St. Louis Mo. | Your right Don, it was a big step up. Mine was still the old headstock, so there was no way to hide on stage or on the front porch. |

Location: RI. That small State out East | My first "adult" guitar... 1975... It is still playing strong as a "just laying around" guitar at my son's apt. The 22 yr. olds that pick it up are still surprized by the sound... I might want it back. He knows he can't sell it. Hell, now you have me thinking...
I beter give him a call.
