My generation was lucky if we could talk to our uncle in California. This internet is a great thing. I'm retired and I generally go on line in the early morning hours here in New Mexico because it's quiet and everybody's in bed except me. I spent many early years working night shifts and became used to late night hours and played in bars also which generally is done in the night hours. Watch the country music TV shows for a band appearing early in the morning to see some totally confused people. This board is becoming international, so post when it's convenient and I'm sure you will get plenty of discussion when the "early to bed" fellows get up. I believe the music is the same world wide. It's also great to hear different musical cultures mix it together sometimes. Do you remember when Paul Simon cut an album in South Africa in the 80's with "Ladysmith Black Mambazo" who are a local South African outfit. - DIAMONDS IN THE SOLES OF MY SHOES...

It was created by a couple of guys who went out with a couple of mics, a laptop, and a basic musical theme. They then trotted around the globe getting local musicians/singers to add their interpretation of the aforementioned "theme" using instruments and musical flavors indigeonous to their locale. The result was a cohesive set of songs utilizing all these musical styles. Pretty cool.

I'm also wating for Ernie Els and Tiger to duke it out this year. Bailey
