Location: Kauai | Aloha, I recently acquired this wonderful instrument. I still do not know just what I will be doing with it but I have an issue. the pickup does not seem to work. Right inside the sound hole is a box about the size of a 9 volt battery. Is that indeed a battery?
Oh yea, one other comment. From my research, 1984 is the last year that this line was listed in any of the company catalogs. Would that be the final year of production?
thanks.

As far as your second question, I don't know that answer, but I'm sure some know-it-all besides myself will be along shortly. |

Location: Jet City | That's probably the last year and yes that's a battery. There should be a plastic "screw" holding it in. Loosen the strings and stick your hand in, hold the little box and turn the screw about 180 degrees or so.
That's one of my favorite Ovation models |
