Location: Hazel Green, Al | I bought a 6778LX Standard Elite back in 2007 for around $800 (popular online guitar seller).
Now that I am really digging into Ovations, I found out beginning this year, Ovations are no longer made in America?
Also, my 6778LX is selling as "new" for $1600!! Really?
My understanding is they were only produced in 2004, so there are some sitting around in boxes for 7 years? What does that do to the guitars/necks?
Made me think about putting mine on Ebay, then I got over it. I just love this guitar (it replaced a Taylor). Got my eye on a bass on here that looks just like it. |

You can still custom order USA O'.
The difference is Retail, Actual and Bottom end pricing (of the same unit).
If kept in a People-friendly place it's not a problem. Avoid attics and trunks... |

The one on the Left was made in 2007. (by serial number)
The one on the right was made in 2004.
Both were acquired used. The 2007 shows a bunch of tracks and a dent.
The 2004 was in a GC until 2007, and then was at a players house...
But apparently everybody played electric, so you can barely find a pick-track on her.
As to the current eBay selling climate...
There are many people asking a thousand bucks for a 6778LX... Not many are getting it.
You would regret selling it... Immediately!
