Joined: September 2008 Posts: 55 Location: Columbus, Ohio | Last week I picked up a 1998 Adamas 1597 locally from the original owner. She said she hardly ever played it and it shows. Almost no fretwear whatsoever, the gold tuners are still shinny with no scratches or finish rubbing off. This thing looks like brand new! I took it home and polished the frets and oiled the fretboard, put some new strings on and it plays great! I've have a lot of guitars in the past from many different makers and I always come back to Ovation/Adamas. I think I'm going to have order a custom Adamas within the next year.

All it has to be is 'better' than my current fav squeeze (93C) to make it into the herd. Lovely guitar methinks, juicy ebony neck, nice big frets, gold hardware, V neck (right?), a winning combo without even considering the top. As you showed yours, I'll show you mine...

I play plugged in 90% of the time and I haven't found a guitar yet that sounds as good as Ovation/Adamas when plugged in. Like I said, this guitar is in brand new condition and it's 10 years old...I didn't think $850.00 w/case was a bad deal.

How about this (I didn't take the pic and it's not my actual guitar but it is a red 1537)... Looks like a volcano guitar! I'm going have some fun with my camera when it arrives. ![]()
