Unbelievably enough, I got a call today from a detective at the Kitsap County prosecutor's office, letting me know that they had FINALLY arrested the guy who broke into our house almost nine months ago!

I don't have many details yet, but they apparently picked him up for some other infraction and pulled the warrant for his arrest, and took him into custody. Amy and I have been subpeonaed(I know I butchered it) as victims/witnesses for possible testimony or identification in the case, so when I get the papers in the mail I should know more. The preliminary hearing date is set for Sept 11.

Supposedly, they did confiscate a bunch of stolen goods from him, which may or may not include things of ours. We will cross our fingers and see...

I will say that this is the best news I've heard in a LONG time - particularly after getting scammed last month on top of it, I am very surprised to see something being done by our law enforcement and justice system - my faith is somewhat restored. (no offense to anyone here in the field ;) )

Glad to hear it!

Maybe I'll be fortunate and get a Jury Duty Summons at the right time! ;)

Curious: Did he still have your guitar? Did he say what he did with it? Did you know him? Did he say why he targeted you?

I hope this is a sea change for you, Andrew, and you'll have nothing but smooth sailing from now on. I don't know if those analogies are meant to go together, but I meant to say that I hope this is a sign your luck is changing. Let us know how the hearing went. I assume they'll bind him over for trial and he'll plead guilty to something just before trial.

Still haven't gotten any information in the mail from the prosecutor's office. I'm not really sure what they nabbed him for, except that it was another crime of some sort, and they're charging him with multiple items.

I also have no idea if any of the property that they seized is mine or not...dying to hear from SOMEBODY!

At the end of the day, a pregnant-time catching is better than no catching at all...
...so be more optymistic about your law-forces: you should see what happens - or doesn't happen - somewhere else (in particular due to the number of thefts they have to manage in the same time).
Really: I'm glad to hear.
Fingers crossed, thumbs up! :)

You can inquire as to the status. No harm in that. You also have a case number from your robbery, so talk to them using your case number.

When I got hit, they eventually caught the guys, but did not recover anything of mine, and I never heard what they did with the guys.

As it turns out, they didn't get serious about their investigation here, until they hit a couple of prominent businessmen. Hmmmmm

Anyway...hope it goes your way on this on Andrew.
