| I've got an old (22 years) Ovation Anniversary model acoustic that I need some work done on. When I purchased it, it came with a lifetime warranty. I have been unsuccessful in getting Ovation to respond. Unfortunately, I do not have the original receipt (after 22 years)but it obviously is an Ovation (tee hee). Anybody have any ideas? |

| Well, it has been so long ago I really don't remember. I suppose I did. I am the one and only owner of the guitar. We've been together a long time but she's showing her age... |

If you sent the card in, they should have it on file and you should be be good t'go (providing of course, that the work you need done is covered under Warranty . . . .) |

Location: Sunshine State, Australia | I emailed Ovation about a warranty job on a new guitar... and they emailed me back within 2 days.
Unfortunately, they wouldn't honor the warranty as I bought it in the States and now it's in Oz.
Try emailing Andy (aschloss-kmc at Kaman.com) [replace 'at' with @] He replied quickly to my questions.
It took 2 months and more than one email for the Australian importers to get back to me.
The mother ship is usually pretty good.
What sort of work needs doing? Is it a fault, or normal wear and tear? |

| The guitar has a plastic (ugh) border around the sound hole. It has come loose. Also, there is a crack in the top. Not sure it is in the wood, it might just be in the finish. |

As to the loose border, you can fix it yourself.
In any event, bring it to a tech. My guy gave me free glue and told me how to fix finish cracks. |

Could John Budny authorise a warranty job in Australia? (Through an Ovation authorised luthier) |
