On the left is an original Glen Campbell 12 string ('81 1118-1) and on the right is the '06 Glen Campbell reissue 12 string (1618-1RI?}....

Notice that the reissue doesn't have a bolt-on bridge and is missing the first fret diamond!

Was this done to be able to tell the reissue from an original at a glance???

(the picture of the beautiful original was borrowed from Cc's gallery...)

I like the dark burst on the original. Never liked that "yellow" burst.

I have had three of the 1981 GC 12's, now just an acoustic. Checked out the reissue at NAMM, burst was identical. This might be a variation of the photo v. the actual guitars.

the reissue I have in stock has the diamond on the first fret and the darker burst, but not AS dark...but that could be age and the picture. No bolt through the bridge.

This one's on eBay now, no bolts thru the bridge, but the first fret inlay is there.

be careful with BroBobb eBay listings...may be stock photos...example is what looks like a new brown case...he gives you the 2nd line black 8158.

Original has a different brace pattern. The new has the scalloped X brace.. Big difference.. The old has the 2X4 super brace plate bracing which sounds good sometimes but OVERKILL.. The new ones sing..

Someone should buy me one so I could hear for myself it it kills! The case in that pic is actually the new BLACK one, just with some funky reflected lighting(look at the bottom left). I look at it twice every time I look at his auctions, but it matches my LX case, but is has the new style logo instead of the old one(my nephew's LX case is the same one - and black).

I didn't know the new ones had the scalloped X braces. I thought they had the A bracing pattern.
