Instead of watching the weekly DVD at the cabin this weekend, we went to a Preston Reed concert at Brundage Mountain in McCall. Heard an ad on the radio and figured we should do something different. I had only vaguely heard of Preston Reed. He played his Adamas more than any of his other guitars put together. He can actually play in the traditional fashion and did a couple tunes on a nylon string.
At the intermission I bought a couple of his CDs and told him I just got my first Adamas. He said he didn't know what Ovation was doing currently, having had the Adamas custom made years ago.
He put on a great show to a small audience at the base of the ski hill. Except for a couple people who drank too much and talked through most of the second set, it was a wonderful evening. Oh, I almost forgot the only other bad part. He thanked Yamaha for loaning him some guitars, saying that it was too expensive to ship all 7 of his guitar on tour. My wife repeated, "he only has 7 guitars" all the way home.

Be interesting to know how much replacement cost would be on his 7. Probably buy somewhere between 20 to 30 for me.

Mark,

You should explain to your wife that he only has 7 "touring" guitars. That never takes into account the 20-30 or more that they have laying around the house and studio.

That's what I told her. I figured I could get some facts off his website to back up that theory, but I couldn't find any.
