Location: Wooster, Ohio | I have a large Genz Benz 200 watt stereo acoustic amp which I use at church. They are great but heavy. Am looking for the same kind of set up but compact. I think I have it down to AER compact 60, Ultrasound AG-50 DS3, maybe Schertler David or Unico. I want one channel for guitar and one for voice. The Genz Benz does this very well. Any thoughts, I know of no store around that has them to try.

Location: Germany | I have the AER Compact 60. It's the best sounding acoustic amp I know, extremely compact and weights less than 20 lbs. Very common acoustic amp in Europe. Even Thommy Emmanuel uses the Compact 60 on stage. Made the pic last year during one of his concerts in Germany.

Steve I'm still confused. Are you looking for a mathematic algorithm? Is the Jr's 35 watts not loud enough for you? Can I assume you understand how amplifier power is measured and that 50 watts is only approximately 6% more powerful than 35 watts (not 40% more powerful as the "straight math" might lead you to believe)? The 35 pounds I can't help you with, except to say the Jr is quite easy to lug around and transport, if that's your concern. Are you buying an amp on specs alone? Or, are you buying it based on the sound you'll get out of it (and in the case of the Jr how easily you can work it because you're already familiar with the big brother)? |

Location: East Wenatchee, WA | Barbetta 23C. 38 lbs, 175 watts 4 line level one microphone level. Power to weight is pretty good. 15" and a horn. I use it as our church PA right now for up to 50-75 people with keyboard, two AE guitars and two vocal mics(using a transformer for one). |

1279.00 for the battery powered version of the 60...it's called the Mobile...
I do have a few Trace Elliot Acoustic Cubes that have never been out of the box that I bought just before Gibson took over Trace Elliot...I might be pursuaded to sell one...

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | Yep discussed before. I'd break it down into four parts:
1)Cost (Look at used stuff)
2)Weight (Anything more than 40LBS is a pain in the ass)
3)Sound (Ask around if you can't listen, fender acoustasonic is good, I know this is sacralidge here, but I like it better than the Genz-Benz. So shoot me.)
4)Wattage (I've found that some amps may say 50Watts, but they are not as loud as a 40 Watt amp, again if you can't try them, ask)
If money is no object then get the Bose system. You'll have to go back and forth to the car, but one guy can do it.

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I use two Acoustasonic Juniors, one for each channel from my 1651. There are separate channels with separate DSP capabilities for the mics on the Juniors as well, although I prefer connecting mics directly into stereo mixer/am sound reinforcement system. The Juniors go for $300 to $350 on eBay. I purchased mine for $300 each, with covers, and they're like new. The Model 30 with DSP are $50 to $75 less, but the sound quality drops off more than that for my taste. Good luck and keep us posted. |
