Location: nc | There seems to be a piece of wood covering bolts though I can't be sure without removing it.I'd hate to go to all the trouble to find that neck doesn't bolt on.It's like a block of wood but then if you feel it seems to be a box that is glued together.I need some mice with chisels if anyones got some. |

Location: Warren,Pa. | The construction methods used in overseas Ovations are very different from USA models. I think the reason for this is that, while Ovation specs the guitars, some details are kind of up to the factory that builds them (along with who knows how many other brands of guitars being made in that same factory). If I remember correctly seeing a Celebrity neck seperated from a body, the joint was a VERY crude mortice-and-tenon thing that, once torn apart, would be too much of a mess to do anything with. I'd say pull the 026 apart and see if it looks workable, but be mentally prepared to hit a dead-end. If that's what happens, don't be too disappointed; remember that these guitars are built to a pricepoint that really doesn't allow for easy future repairs. Sorry for being too verbose...this is my first adult conversation of the day. John <>{ |
