Robbie, You are right. But a year ago when I wrote that post it was true. When the LX line was introduced it was not envisioned to have SS bowls. But I thin there was some public outcry from folks that like the SS bowls for live work and later in the year Ovation announced that it would have LX model SS bowls as well on a few models. Dave

Thank you very much Mark and Moody. I needed to ask about it because I heard somewhere that you could use both nylon and steel strings on the Legend, but don´t worry, now that you helped me out I won´t do such a thing. I hope I can get me one for nylon strings very soon because I really enjoy the sound the Legend has. Thanks guys!

Luis, my Classic has a deep bowl with a cedar top. It has a great sound with the nylon strings. They also make a model with a Spanish Pine top. The 1624s and I think the 1674s also have nylon strings with a shallow bowl and a narrower neck. The sound would be different, but I have never heard one close up. The thing I am really enjoying this year (besides the fact that it annoys my wife) is the ability to get different looks, feel and sound out of the same brand of guitars. My wife thinks I am in a rut, but every one of my Ovations has wonderful differences. When I switch brands it will be to Adamas.

No need to appologize. It's actually interesting that some of these threads go on for years and to see how the information (both facts and opinions) changes! Dave

Thanks for the info Mark. In fact, I am already thinking about getting me another Ovation for nylon strings. As a friend of mine says: "You can never have enough guitars. Every one of them has it´s own sound and looks". I think he´s just right.

By the way guys, what is the best strings brand that you can recommend for my Legend?

And I am almost ashamed by mentioning another guitar brand in this Ovation fan club, but do you have an opinion about Crafter guitar´s sound (specially in their nylon strings models)?

Thanks a lot again!
