No offense Beal, but it's the old man's sig that makes it special.

Hang onto it for a couple years. I'll have the mortgage and cars paid off, youngest graduated from school, she'll get the 87 for her 25th birthday and I'll have lots of extra cash. Sounds like a nice plan to me, anyway.

Hey Bob,

I got a friend of a friend who is looking at your guitar. If he buys it, it will be gigged heavily and probably never been seen or heard from again.

I would prefer to see you keep it or go to one of our members...............

but unless one of them steps up to the plate and makes a serious run....

Stephen,

Why would he want a Book Elite (read BLING) just to beat the crap out of gigging? That would be a real shame is this rare guitar didn't stay in the hands of a real ovation fan.

Lotta performers like a blingy guitar on stage. And if it's a great guitar (acoustic and amplified), then why leave it home. I may be going up north next month to see some friends and will probably bring the 87C....

Now that I'm clear on what I've got, if it's going anywhere it'll be to a true Ovation aficionado who will take care of it and cherish it for what it is. Aside from a pinhead sized top smudge, it's in perfect shape. It gets played regularly by me and is out handing with the rest of the guitars, but it'll need to be in the hands of the right person if it goes anywhere else.

My usual giggin' axe is the Al DiMeola. And in black. It doesn't get much blingier.

That said, my "Book" rarely sees the stage.
