Hello everyone,

I honestly don't remember if I have already posted a message here or not, so it's only polite to rather repeat myself than not say hi :)

It's a wonderful forum, I've read a lot and learnt a lot, I even bought two guitars from very helpful and friendly members. I am an avid Ovation fan (fwiw I have an epaulet tattooed on my back!) and, as everybody here that haven't (yet), hope to get (at least) a custom made Adamas once.

Umm among the many silly questions that I would ask a willing and patient member:
1. Why is it called the Mothership?
2. Why is it called a UTE? (btw there's a great U681T I'm drooling for and can't afford on the Bay)

All the best,
Ammons

Ammons asks:

1. Why is it called the Mothership?
Because that is where these smaller Ships came from...

Just a random dumb idea... :p

Unfortunately, after extensive searching, I cannot find a photo of anybody in the band Boston playing an Ovation.

Got that. Well, it has to be the coolest name for a guitar factory ever :) . Thanks guys!

PS Just tried to post in another section and couldn't - being a lurker has its disadvantages (in the words of a furry cartoon character, 'if you have nothing nice to say, sau nothing')

O Fearless Leader, you are too humble.
The earliest recorded reference to the Ovation factory as "mothership" was you, on September 21, 2002"
"So let it be written, so let it be done", or somethin' Biblical, like that.
