Also, can one of those pickups that clip to the sides of the soundhole be used on a Pacemaker? Any help is appreciated.

On my Ovation, the inlay rises above the top of the guitar and adds to the thickness of the soundhole edge. I hope I'm making sense - I would like to amplify my guitar, but is 36 years old and in great shape. I'm not sure I want to alter it in any way. I'm kinda new at this and appreciate the help.

It doesn't fit well on the Ovation rosettes because of the thickness, but it still works. Other pickups have different fastening mechanisms, so just check it out before you buy the pickup.
