I can't afford something like that anyway. I just love old instruments like that.

moody,

Why no steel strings? I not interested in buying the guitar, I'm just curious.

Martin tops weren't braced for steel strings until sometime in the 1920's. This guitar should have nylon strings on it, or at most, silk and steel.

Paul I had several of these through my shop in the early to mid 80's: also one from the 1890's: all had steel strings...not all that unusual: if you look at the photo's, this guitar has stout X braces as well as scalloped bracing...true, they were originally designed for gut/nylon and silk and steel also work well: but light ga. strings can work as well: this guitar also had a replacement pin bridge at some point as stated...it has a small bridge plate so it can handle it.
The Brz. Rosewood is very nice! Price is about right as well...
If I could afford it, I'd buy it!
