Location: SoCal | When the 47's and OFC slotheads first came out, one of the few complaints was that the bridges didn't have that same dark shiny finish the the originals had. Instead, they looked like brand new walnut (which they were).
I used some Howard Feed-N-Wax on mine last night, mostly to protect the wood, but it darkened it slightly and gave it a slightly shiny finish. I'm going to keep on using it every time I change the strings (it's great for the back of the neck as well, cleaning it and giving it a slightly shiny patina) and I'll bet that within a year, that the bridge looks perfect. |

May I have your pics here?
Should we let it be or make it look like vintage? Thanks.

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Moody, where did you pick up the Feed-N-Wax? The difference in the bridge finish between the original (No. 43) and the OFC is remarkable. I prefer the original as well. |

Location: Germany | Paul, I don't like the light appearance of the OFC walnut bridge and would therefore also be interested to see the pics. Thanks,

Oil/wax is just hurrying the process.

Location: SoCal | The first pic was taken by Jerome in May. The second two were this morning. The bridge is getting darker and slightly shiny with each polishing.

Location: SoCal | those pics are sure a lot lighter than either my OFC or the 47RI and that is without any application...am I missing something? |

Location: Germany | Thanks Paul, I´ll give it a try as well. My bridge is actually much lighter than yours was before application.
BTW, your bridge has a nice wood grain.
