Here is a 1993 collector for $600
http://honolulu.craigslist.org/msg/143799314.html

Here is a Custom Ordered Elite 1778 KOA with HexFX. The seller wants $2000 for it!!!
http://westernmass.craigslist.org/msg/134993574.html

Under the same link above, the seller has a 1988 12-string Adamas model 1688-5. Asking for $2000 as well.

If you look under this link, you can see the seller has an original Adamas slothead 1687-7.

is there any way to search the entire list for all cities, or do you need to search for each individual city?

thanks, ernie

On craigslist, you have to search each city. It would be nice if you can search the entire list.

I use google with the keywords "adamas craigslist" which seem to work pretty good.

HoHo, I checked the site, but i don't see the Adamas 33. I do see though the 31 and several others:

Check the 1687-7:

That's an amazing collection!

Elias Argyris is a an Ovation collector of long standing, and probably one of the very early members of this club. Several of us are acquainted with him, and he has some really nice guitars. He continues to have them, however, because he wants really nice prices for them.

Paul, the prices on these aren't that much out of line. I think his Koa's much prettier than the 2006. And the Adamas I 12 string is right about where I would expect.

I think Elias' prices are not totally out of line. It is a bit on the high side. The koa Elite is very unique.

giuseppe, I don't know why I said #33, my mistake.

Interesting how we "complain" that Ovations don't get any respect, are under valued, etc. And then when someone asks a reasonable price for one (compared to other brands) we think they are gouging us. I'm not the price police but in my opinion, an Adamas I 12-string should sell for every bit of $2500-3000. Dave

I agree, Dave. The A12 is probably under what it would ultimately go for on the bay. And the Koa Elite, to my eyes, is much classier looking and probably every bit as nice to play as the 2006 collector.

I can't afford either right now, but I think they're attractively priced. Someone should snap em up.

I have my Adamas 1 12 string 1688-7 for sale at $2200.00 but it has some scratching on the sound hole foliage. Other than that I'm in the ball park with pricing. I know this will go for $2000 on the auction block with no trouble. The good thing with a member in a site like this is. They often will take interesting trades & Cash.

I actually asked Elias about the gold colored Adamas slothead. When we talked he told me it was not actually for sale? Not quite sure why he has it listed like it is for sale??
Curious??? How exactly does someone end up having these slotheads consistantly for sale through the years?? I know Al is a long time dealer for Ovation and has a great connection with the Factory and this explains his great supply of Adamas guitars?? Who is the Elias, if anyone cares to say, and what is his connection, if I may ask? He has had at least three of the original slotheads for sale at one time or another that I know of and perhaps more?? I just think this is odd?
Nothing wrong....Just odd?

Adamas I 12 strings have been selling on ebay (on those rare times when they do come up) for about $2200. My personal opinion is that they are worth more, but the reality is that they are worth whatever somebody is willing to pay.

There is an AD I 12 string on the bay right now, starting at $1000. The seller is the same guy I bought my 1681 from and who sold the U681T recently.

My 1681 is set up to perfection and is as new. I'd bet this 12 string is the same. I contacted him and closed our deal before the end of the auction. If you are looking for one of these, make him a reasonable offer.

The seller is a working musician, performing on Ovation and Adamas guitars in western North Carolina. He is also an OFC member, although not active.

Randy, I don't know whether it's odd or not, but as far as I am aware samova also used to own a couple of slotheads (#31 and #57, as well as the #33 solidhead 12-string) at one time, not to mention the many solidhead Adamases.
Hector also owned 2 slothead Adamases!!!!

True but Elias always has something of this caliber for sale?? Again I am not incinuating anything is wrong.... what-so-ever. I am just honestly curious how a person would always seem to have more than one of these great old guitars for sale?? Al is the only guy I can logic out?? His supply makes perfect sense?? These other sellers seem to be a real fluke to me?? Do they have a list of current or previous owners and make calls or stay in touch?? I ask because the Slothead on Ebay was the first I had ever seen of it's kind and I have been buying and selling since fall of 1999. ?? And Ebay has been the best source for the odd or rare Ovation I have found overall.

I find it facinating, These guitars are so hard to find. Anywhere???

No matter. I am glad Guy's like AL and Elias and a few others have access to them, and can place them out where we can, with the right amount of compensation, own them.
