I have a near mint condition Gibson SG Supreme, in the midnight blue, I bought from AL a while back. Just Beautiful! Never got used to it??? I think I would like to have one of the earlier, odd looking, battle axe shaped, Ovation Electrics for my other Electric guitar.
I am willing to consider partial trades or perhaps an outright sale so I can bid on one through ebay. I paid $1,300 for the SG and I see these go on Ebay in this condition for near this price all the time. It is a fantastic guitar with great action and a perfectly straight neck. It also has one of those great looking, well built, gibson hard cases with it with the Gibson name and symgol on the front. Again as close to mint as they come.
I see what I think is a minty looking Deacon in black on the bay now. This is what I am thinking of but like so many of these spontanious decisions I am going at this with very little information and I have no knowledge what style Ovation is considered more valuable or perhaps has more actual playable options for me?
I do know what the Gibson is worth and the resale on these is not going to diminish any time soon so perhaps there are those among us who have an interest in this great guitar and can fill me in on the rest of the blank spaces.

Just figured I would throw this out there. You never know might just work out well.

For those of you who have emailed I will have a decent camera today (the 28th) and send off photo's. I will attemt to load one in here as well. I know I was not successful the last time I tried this.

Thanks Randy

OK I have no idea how to load a photo to this board?
Anyone care to go through the photo's for dummies step by step for me.
Wouldn't blame you if you didn't. Some of you have got to be sick of explaining this!

By the way I have been told it is not wise to state my guitar is "Mint" it is a used guitar in fantastic condition.

Hey I did it!
Camera is a cheapy but it works fair enough. There is one pathetic album in there for me for a guitar I am selling. But what a guitar! I will work on some more photo's of the rest of the Ovation pack soon. Thanks for the help Mike!
Check it out I did have to go back into the photo and resize it to make it load but otherwise this process is quite straight forward.

I have emailed out a few shots if anyone else wants one let me know Email attachments are about the only photo work I can do with ease. Thanks for the intrest guy's

Have to say that's the nicest SG I think I've ever seen, Randy. Seriously. Love the color. And, knowing how some people value the Gibson's, you should have no problem getting what you need for that one. Good luck.

Nice Thanks for the Compiment! Always nice to hear your guitars are great looking!

I have a few offers, and again "I like trades" It keeps me from having any cash that my wife can take from me for the "priorities" and it gives the other party a crack at a guitar they might want with no hit to the liquid balance.
I was really looking for a nice Deacon and some cash but hey if you've got a few nice Ovations or what have you, Anything is possible. I have GAS and I have decided to let this "Great Gibson Go" "Great Gibson Go" Hey sounds like a name for a band..........

I feel it is a last resort to sell a guitar on ebay if your planning on buying another one anyway. There are so many guitar players in here that have GAS each of you all have extras. Someone has to have the right combination to make this a fun trade amongst friends.

No matter it's just a fun suggestion nothing more.
Thanks again for the interest
Randy

I finally got around to posting some pictures, too. It's really quite simple. I had a few "timed outs" at first, but figured it out after a couple of tries. So, if I can do it, everyone can. I've learned to change shims and post pictures from this board. Now if someone would teach me how to play guitar.

Hey guy's I have to thank all of you who have at least some interest in this guitar I am offering up. I know it is not an Ovation but I am looking for an Ovation or two to fill it's possible absence. So I thought it would be OK to advertise this here.
I am looking for a nice Deacon that is fairly good shape and has a value of approx 1/2 of this Gibson not 3/4 or 100%. This is my mistake as I had no idea the value of a Deacon could reach this amount. Which is what I have been informed.

I love Ovation guitars so if you have another guitar to go along with a deacon( acoustic or electric) that will total a value near the fair figure of nearly $1,100 to $1,300 for my SG then email me and perhaps we can make a deal.

Thanks Randy

It's getting to the point that a nice Deacon would be a straight up trade, NC. Hope you get one.

Thanks I will have to try elsewhere. I honestly had no idea these were becoming that valuable. Well lets face it, that is at least how they are viewed in here.
I should have asked about the trade on a Gibson web site! The same Deacon over there would be worth much less I bet.
We love these Ovation guitars so this makes perfect sense this is where a seller can get the most for one.
I had to list the SG last night for a quick auction. I am sure the interest in this particular Guitar is not very high here being it is non Ovation, and no longer a trade deal, but here's the link just the same.

http://cgi.ebay.com/GIBSON-Model-SG-Supreme-This-ones-worth-the-loo...

It is a real nice guitar and a very fair price.
I will watch Ebay for a Deacon in the future and perhaps hit the buy it now for a good price or persuade the seller to end an auction like I have seen happen to so many.

My suspicion is the Deacons that have been sold in this manor did not go for as much as they are apparently worth.
I will see. Now it will take Patience and a little cash to cure my Ovation Electric GAS problems.

Thanks again guy's Randy

OK The Gibson is SOLD! Headed to France! I actually got $30 more than I paid for it but I am picking up the rest of the shipping costs so I will be out about $30- $40 in the end. Not bad. Nice guitar it sure held it's value Now on to obtaining a nice Deacon.

Thanks guy's & girls for the interest.
