My 1688-8 is one of the few guitars I can honestly say will never leave the stable. Simply fantastic!

It is fortunate that most have never played the 1688 (or 1687)...maybe even more fortunate that many of us haven't played one of the original slotheads. What we don't know or experience sometimes helps us with GAS (kind of like driving a Ferrari makes it easier to get into the van or pickup in the morning to go to work.)

Course, all of the talk on the OFC just reminds that there are the special guitars out there.

When I asked several factory and OFC'ers about the Adamas, it was recommended that I go with the textured top...I like the SMT and CVT but the textured top (1687 - old and reissue, 1688, 1681 and new U681T) are really that good!

Good Question, I don't think I want to sell it. It keeps the Silver long neck 6 string company. Both are pretty important pieces in the stable, even if they don't get played very much.

Steve, join up with Woody and myself. We are lobbying the mothership to custom build us a 12 string longneck. The more people interested, the better our chances.

Besides....we know they have made one in the past ;)

Steph, what kind of specs are we talking about here?...I would actually like them to build me a 6-string center-hole longscale mid-bowl with either a CVT or SMT top, depending on which top works better with the bracing...(w-2 you're they only guy I know with a 6 AND a 12 longneck...)Steph, I owned a 1758 once and the neck was quite nice...I imagine a longscale 12 neck would be about the same..

Paul Who?

Yeah.. back to the subject... Anyone interested in a 12 string that has no equal for sound, this is it. if your not sure of the price it's worth asking. My 1688-7 is the best 12 string I have ever played and I will never sell it.
