With the help of many I have rescued a Preacher Deluxe from Ebay and breathed new life into it. Since (like many) I have my eyes on some of the Gaseous offerings coming from CT I want to put it up for sale on Ebay and garnish as much for my fund as possible. What price range am I looking at? The body is lacquer, dent at base of headstock, ding under bridge. pups are worn, switches are new and comes with OHSC. The Custom "Woody" P/G will be hated or loved. More pictures in my Gallery under Preacher Deluxe. The old battle over stock or custom. Please let me know what you think!

Personally i'd keep it though. more is always better than less. :)

Good sense says wait until next year when the solids will garner at least $100 more. I am a hack at playing electric. Sell, trade or keep. Probably a good time to call a time-out.

I missed one guitar so much I found it 5 years later and bought it for 3 times more than I sold it for! Hell, if I found the other guitar I regret selling or one like it, I'd probably do the same! Looking back on the money I got compared to the regret of having gotten rid of them, I'd say - just keep it!

The reference material on the OFC site here says 1975 - 1980; E and six digits for 1980 (late). Steck, your s/n on the Preacher probably makes it an 81/82 vintage. So I could see yours and mine being 1979 or 1980 by that measure. I'd be interested to have more definitive date/serial number info... I haven't opened it up yet for the stuff that needs doin', but I wonder if Kaman marked the necks and bodies like Fender did/does? John

Not with serial numbers. There will be 1/2" diameter QA stamps and markings like SB for sunburst. It is rumored that when Standing dave sells an acoustic there is a small avery label inside that says "bite Me, Cliff".
