1993 Elite N868 for sale. This guitar is one of the Nakao Export guitars that apparently never made it out of the US. Serial #469958

Tobaccoburst Shallowbowl with Op24 electronics. What is unique about this model is the abalone purfling and abalone up the sides of the fingerboard. Also, the Ovation logo in the headstock is abalone inlay. Great look without being too over-the-top.

Had it set up by a local (Dallas) luthier about 2 years ago and it plays great with super action. Has a few tiny dings on the back of the neck, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 12-year old guitar. A few headstock dings also. Nearly invisible scratch below the bridge along with 3 small finish cracks at the bridge. I'm guessing they're about 5mm. There is a tiny (4mm) piece of epaulet missing around one of the soundholes. Also, there is some pick wear to the lower epaulet from what I am guessing is a previous owner's strumming. Gold Schaller tuners show what I'd call minimal pitting.

I don't know if you'd call it rare, but it's certainly unique. I thought I'd try my fellow OFCers to see if there is any interest in keeping it in the family. I've watched Ebay for some time, but no idea what the market is. If I remember correctly, I saw a N768 back in Feb of this year that closed without a bid at a $1200 start. Seller relisted with a $1000 BIN and someone bought it.

Make me an offer. I'd also be willing to entertain a trade for a Godin Multiac or a 400 or 500 series Taylor.

If you're interested, drop me an email and I'll try to get some pix out as soon as I can.

-Rob
