Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :)		For the life of me, I can't understand why they didn't but an external access battery compartment on the earlier models. It is such a pain to change out. Especially if you're in the middle of a gig. I wonder if the reissues are going to do the same thing.

Location: NJ		I've NEVER had 'em just "die" in the middle of a gig. When play 'em out long enough, you're able to detect telltale "symptoms". First, you'll see a bit of a drop in the "gain", and as they start to die off, you'll start to notice a bit of "distortion" in the signal . . .
(at least that's how my lowly FET-3 behaves)

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :)		My first indicator is during tuning, when every-other string has less gain. The first time this happened I thought the pickup was bad, but a fresh battery fixed it right up.

Location: 6 String Ranch		You are not alone. That is one of the indicators. Switch the battery and you'll be fine. The unplugged thing helps too but it's so hard to remember all this spoo.
